FAQs

1. Will a pool increase the value of my home?
Yes. Most studies show that a pool will increase the value of your home anywhere between 7% and 15%. This depends on where your house is located. It will also continue to increase in value throughout the years, just like your home increases in value.

2. What about warranties? Is my investment well-protected?
Warranties are very important. We at C.M. Custom Pool Designs provide you with the strongest guarantee in the swimming pool industry. We are confident in the product we build and we offer a warranty that backs it up. You should always ask for and compare the warranties when requesting estimates from builders. We build our pools to last.

3. How much work is involved in owning and caring for a swimming pool?
In the past, a lot of effort had to go into maintaining a pool. However, with today’s technology and conveniences, owning a pool or spa is easier than owning a vehicle. Pool chemical testing, maintenance, cleaning, preprogrammed filtration and heating can all be automated. Automatic pool cleaners and various sanitizing devices also make your pool simple to maintain. Salt water chlorinators make maintaining your pool much easier than in the past. Your only concern will be finding more time to enjoy your new pool or spa.

4. There are sometimes advertisements promising pools at very low prices. Should I consider this option?
Not Recommended. It’s actually possible to build a pool at a low price. But you should be aware that to build a low cost pool, equipment, structural elements, craftsmanship, and design are all being compromised. Besides ending up with a pool that does not fit your property because of improper design and/or using poor quality construction materials can also put you and your family at risk. Always remember the old saying, “You get what you pay for.”

We, at C.M. Custom Pool Designs, know that the cost difference between a great job and a poor job does not have to be significant. We will work with you to determine a budget that meets your needs and custom design your pool to fit that budget. This will result in a beautiful and dependable custom pool that is affordable and within your financial parameter.

5. Why do cost estimates vary so much when the pools seem to be the same?
The price of a pool is determined by more than just the size and shape of that pool. Unfortunately, there are many contractors that do not include important factors that affect cost in the actual estimate they give you. This can also mean that you can get hit with hidden charges after construction has begun. There are some important things to consider:
• Quality of Materials
• Craftsmanship
• Design Expertise
• Underground Strength and Durability
• Customer Service
• Time Required for Construction
• Warranties
C.M. Custom Pool Designs’ estimates always include the highest quality materials available, superior craftsmanship, expert design, and great customer service.

6. Is financing readily available for this type of project?
Yes. It’s probably easier than you think. Many home owners have discovered they can give their families a beautiful new pool by merely taking the equity in their home and converting it to cash. It’s easy, inexpensive, and very tax wise! If this is not a option for you, we also offer financial services through one of our own financial companies.

7. How should I decide on the design of my pool?
Each property has it’s own unique features that should be considered when your pool is being designed. So does your family! At your request, we will meet with you at your home to discuss your pool needs and desires. We will ask you how you intend to use your pool. Are you considering a spa? Is exercise important? How about family use? What about the location? Where will your pool look best when viewed from your home? Then we will take that information and help you design the pool of your dreams at no charge. We design our pool layouts to accommodate as much usable deck space as well as pool area to fit your needs.

10. How long does it take to build a swimming pool?
From the day we dig the hole till you are filling it with water it should take about thirty working days, which is 6 weeks. Remember that from the day you sign the contract other factors have to take place before the pool can be excavated, such as:
• Financing (if applicable)
• Home owners associations
• Marking and finding utilities
• Permits from your city or county
Permits can sometimes hold up the process, it all depends on what city you live in and the time of year. Usually from the time you sign till we start work in your backyard is about 4 weeks. Call today & start building your own backyard paradise!

11. How do we go about filling up our new pool with water?
You simply use your hose, whether you are on city or well water. If you are on city water, you can get a rebate for the sewage part of the water bill related to filling your pool. In other words, you will pay for the water going into your pool, but not the related sewage fees.
